Beautifully restored medieval castle with a stonepike staircase and vaulted kitchen with stunning water views over the Isle of Arran. In private grounds of one acre at the top of a hill this 15th century castle accommodates up to 12 adults and 2 (older) children, over four floors of (mostly) polished wood. Warmed in the cooler months by wood burner stoves, underfloor and oil central heating. Within:-Classic leather & wood style interior; modern comfort without ruining the historical significance-Accommodation made up of 6 spacious bedrooms and 4 bathrooms-Most bedrooms equipped with wood-burner stoves and four poster beds -Ground floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a Great Hall and well equipped vaulted kitchenPerfect for:Three sets of families with slightly older children or mixed couple groups looking for the perfect castle experiencePlease note: Narrow, stone pike stairwells not suitable for anyone of any age with walking difficulties, including unsupervised young children. Large suitcases will be difficult to take up and down stairs. Bedrooms have wood-burner stoves which if lit, may not be suitable for unsupervised children.
