This converted, Grade II listed barn manages to mix historical features with modern conveniences and elegance, and is adjacent to The Mill (T96). Situated in a stunning location in a wooded valley between Lostwithiel, the Medieval Capital of Cornwall and the ancient harbour town of Fowey, this barn provides the ideal central location for the perfect Cornish holiday, being close to both the north and south coasts of the county. The Cow Barn has unusual granite and brick interior arches and features the original floor viewed through glass panels. The quiet and peaceful town of Lostwithiel has become the antiques centre of the county. Its many antique shops, regular fairs, markets and auctions draw people from far and wide. Excellent food can be found in the selection of inns, restaurants and cafes. A leisurely stroll can be taken through the riverside parks, whilst a picnic by the water’s edge watching the abundance of bird life, or fishing for salmon and trout, can be enjoyed. Lower downstream, sea bass and flounder can be caught. For the more energetic, there is a splendid golf course, with swimming-pool, tennis courts, gym, squash and badminton. A short drive away are the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Lanhydrock House (NT), not to mention the scenic coastal path and the many sandy coves and beaches. Shops and pub 1½ miles.
