This pair of tasteful, deceptively spacious holiday cottages combine style and elegance with professionally designed contemporary interiors and sumptuous soft furnishings. Set back just off the road directly from the A68, only 3 miles from Castleside village, these 18th-century stone barns have received a VisitBritain ‘4 Star’ Gold Award, and have been sympathetically restored to provide all the benefits of comfortable holiday living with spectacular views towards the valley. On site is a large purpose-built games barn and fully secure play area for children. The cottages are set amidst magnificent countryside, a short drive from Hadrian’s Wall and stunning Durham. Ideally located to explore the many delights of Northumbria - both golden, sandy beaches and heathery hills in rolling countryside. Bustling market towns and pretty villages are scattered across the region: Corbridge, well known for excellent restaurants, great pubs, galleries and shops is worth a visit, as is Hexham - voted Britain’s favourite market town by Country Life magazine. Blanchland, set in an AONB, is one of the most attractive villages in the area. Walking, sailing and fishing all close by at Derwent Reservoir. Nearby Slaley Hall stands elegantly in 1,000 acres of beautiful forest and moorland with a championship golf course, home to the Great North Open. Sparkling cities like Newcastle and Durham are thriving with lots of shopping, culture and nightlife, not forgetting the passion for football, rugby and cricket. These charming cottages are very child friendly and will delight all age groups - visit the north east of England where naturally friendly people will make time to tell visitors about the place that fills them with pride.
