The Open Golf Championship

With the famous Claret Jug (the Golf Champion Trophy), a Major title and prize money totalling £5 million, The Open attracts the very best of the world's golfers. These make up some 2/3 of the 156 golfers in the tournament with the rest having qualified through local or international qualifiers.

Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in the northwest of England first hosted The Open in 1926 and has been on the course rotation since 1952. In returning to the course in 2012 the Championship was played twice consecutively in England for the first time in its history.

The 2015 Open will be held at St Andrews, Fife in Scotland.

The Championship takes place between the 12th July and 19th July in 2015 starting with practice rounds where you can see the top golfers fine tuning their games prior to the start of the competition on the Thursday. The early practice days offer some of the best opportunities to see the course and golfers before the biggest crowds arrive.
